Greensboro Aquatic Center to Host ACC Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The newly-opened Greensboro Aquatic Center will serve as the site for the 2013, 2014 and 2016 ACC Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, as announced Monday by Atlantic Coast Conference Commissioner John Swofford.

The state-of-the-art Greensboro Aquatic Center (GAC) opened in August of 2011, and is located on the grounds of the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. The 78,323 square-foot facility includes three bodies of water (competition pool, warm-up pool and diving well) and a seating capacity of more than 2,500.

"We've seen the project in the planning stages, so it's great that the doors are finally opened," said Duke head coach Dan Colella. "We've heard nothing but good things about events hosted by the Greensboro Sports Commission, and we're really excited to be swimming the ACCs in Greensboro beginning in 2013."

The 2012 ACC Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships will be held at Virginia Tech's Christiansburg Center. The ACC Women's Swimming and Men's and Women's Diving Championships are February 15-18 while the Men's Swimming & Diving Championships are slated for February 22-25.

The 2013 Championships will run February 20-23 and February 27-March 2. The 2015 ACC Championships will be held in Atlanta at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center.
