2012 Season Notes

Duke finished the year 15-5 overall and captured its ninth ACC regular season title, seventh ACC Tournament championship and advanced to the NCAA semifinals for the eight time and sixth consecutive year ... All five losses came on the road against teams ranked in the top 20
Duke finished the year with a 9-0 record at home and heads into the 2013 season with a nation's-best 10-game home win streak
Jordan Wolf was the team's points leader with 65 points (32g, 33a) ... Robert Rotanz is the top goal scorer with 40 goals and had 48 points overall ... Christian Walsh and Josh Dionne also have 40-plus points with 49 and 43, respectively

With a 17-6 victory over Colgate, Duke head coach John Danowski earned a spot in the NCAA semifinals for the sixth straight season ... He is one of two head coaches - the other being Syracuse's John Desko - to guide a team to championship weekend in each of his first six seasons at the helm of a program ... Duke has become accustomed to professional sports venues ... In 2012, Duke played in its first Major League Soccer venue in PPL Park ... He is the fifth Blue Devil player to earn the distinction as a finalist, joining Kevin Cassese, Matt Danowski, Zack Greer and Ned Crotty ... Danowski and Crotty captured the honor in 2007 and 2010, respectively.

Senior CJ Costabile won the 2012 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, the first Blue Devil student-athlete to capture the honor ... Rotanz Had a Career Year
Senior midfielder Robert Rotanz had an outstanding senior season ... The Westport, Conn., native has a career-best 40 goals and eight assists for 48 points ... His 40 goals are the most in a single season by a Duke midfielder ... He scored at least four goals in five games this season and has seven hat tricks overall ... He netted a career-high five goals in the win over Colgate.

Justin Turri Surpasses Century Mark
With a career-high six points (2g, 4a) against Dartmouth, redshirt senior Justin Turri became the 38th Blue Devil to reach the 100-career point benchmark ... Turri has 70 goals and 52 assists for 122 points ... His 122 points are tied for 28th.

Wolf Cracks 100 Career Points List
With six points against No. 1 Virginia, Jordan Wolf became the 39th Blue Devil in program history to amass at least 100 career points ... In 40 career games, sophomore Jordan Wolf has amassed 116 career points from 63 goals and 53 assists.

Wolf and Walsh is Duke's Top Scoring Duo
Sophomore attackmen Jordan Wolf and Christian Walsh combined for 114 points ... Colgate's Peter Baum and Ryan Walsh are the top tandem with 157 points ... Virginia's Steele Stanwick and Chris Bocklet are the top duo in the ACC with 124 points.

Michael Manley With 73 Career Starts
Redshirt senior Michael Manley started 73 of the 74 games in which he played during his career, posting a record of 60-14 in that span ... The lone game the Penn Yan, N.Y., native did not start was against Denver to close out the 2012 regular season ... Manley returned to Duke's close defense in 2012 after missing the 2011 season due to a knee injury ... Manley, a two-time All-America choice, did not play in four games between 2008 and 2010.

Wigrizer Breaks 400 Saves Mark
Junior goaltender Dan Wigrizer broke the 400 career saves mark with 14 stops at Virginia on April 13 ... He currently ranks tied for second among all junior goalies in career saves with 460 and finished the 2012 season 10th overall among active Division I backstops.

Youth Movement
Duke had a strong corps of underclassmen in 2012 ... Five of Duke's 10 starters were sophomores and nine freshmen or sophomores consistently saw time on the field.
