SPARKS, Md. – Six former Duke men's lacrosse players are among the 45 players invited to the U.S. Men's National Team training camp at USA Lacrosse headquarters Oct. 9-11 as announced by head coach Seth Tierney and USA Lacrosse Wednesday.
The U.S. team is preparing for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men's Championship in Tokyo and will have one additional camp in January following this weekend's camp before Tierney and his staff select the final roster that will represent the United States in Japan.
Representing the defense are
Kenny Brower '24, JT Giles-Harris '21 and
Aidan Maguire '26. On the offensive side of the ball is
Andrew McAdorey '25, Brennan O'Neill '24 and
Michael Sowers '21.
The 45 players include 14 gold medalists from the U.S. National Team Program, including Giles-Harris, O'Neill and Sowers from the 2023 team that defeated Canada in the World Lacrosse Championship in San Diego.
Brower and Maguire are two of eight players in the camp that recently helped the U.S. qualify for the world championship with its showing at the Pan-American Men's Lacrosse Championship in Jamaica earlier this year.
Former Blue Devils also have excelled in the sixes discipline and most recently led the U.S. to a thrilling 12-11 win over rival Canada to win the Pan-American Sixes Lacrosse Championship. It was the first win over Canada in the format since 2021.
The 2027 World Lacrosse Championship will take place in Tokyo June 18-27, 2027.
