DURHAM, N.C.—The National Soccer Coaches Association of America has recognized Duke men's soccer for its efforts in the classroom during the 2013-14 academic year. The Blue Devils are one of 279 men's programs across all NCAA divisions to garner the NSCAA Team Academic Award with a team GPA of at least 3.0.
Duke is one of six ACC programs to land on the list and, with a 3.38 team grade point average, has the highest GPA of any of the conference squads. The Blue Devils landed five players on the All-ACC academic team in 2013, the second most in the ACC. Duke also is one of a 188 schools to have both the men and women's teams listed.
Duke finished 2013 with an 8-5-6 overall record after finishing the regular season on an eight-game unbeaten streak. The Blue Devils fell to top-ranked and NCAA semifinalist Notre Dame in a narrow 1-0 contest in the ACC Quarterfinals to close out the year.
