DURHAM, N.C.—On the strength of winning its final two ACC regular season games, the Duke men's soccer team will host an ACC Tournament First Round game as the No. 7 overall seed. The Blue Devils will host 10th-seeded NC State Nov. 5 at 7 p.m., at Koskinen Stadium.
Ticket prices for Wednesday's game are the same as the regular season at $8 for adults and $5 for youth and senior citizens. Ticket booths will open at 6 p.m., or you can purchase them online at GoDuke.com.
Duke finished the year 4-4-0 against ACC foes en route to taking the seventh seed with 12 points,one point ahead of Virginia. The Blue Devils head into the first round with a 7-2-1 home record, while NC State is 1-2-1 on the road. The Wolfpack finished league play with a 1-5-3 mark and is 7-6-4 overall.
Sophomore striker Brody Huitema has hit his stride lately for the Blue Devils with four goals and two assists for 10 points in his past five outings. He most recently scored and assisted on a goal in the 2-0 win at Virginia Tech. Senior captain Sean Davis owns a career-best eight assists and is the catalyst to the Duke offense, while a collection of freshmen and seniors have anchored the backline this year.
The winner between Duke and NC State advances to the ACC Tournament quarterfinal round at No. 2 overall seed Syracuse. Kickoff for that game is set for No. 9 at 1 p.m., in Syracuse, N.Y.
