DURHAM, N.C.—Duke sophomore striker Brody Huitema was named the Ronald McDonald House Charities Duke Student-Athlete of the Week following a strong pair of performances in a 2-0 week for the men's soccer team. Huitema finished with two goals, both game winners, and an assist.
In the final midweek match of the regular season, Huitema buried a penalty kick in the second half to break the 1-1 tie against Georgia State and give Duke its seventh win of the season.
Three days later the Vancouver native registered a goal and an assist in a 2-0 shutout of Virginia Tech to give Duke the seventh seed in the ACC Tournament. In his past five games, Huitema has 10 of his 15 points on the season from four goals and two assists.
Duke welcomes NC State to Koskinen Stadium Wednesday night for an ACC Tournament First Round game. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. Live video will be provided free of charge from the Blue Devil Network.
