DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's swimming and diving program earned the highest national ranking in program history Wednesday, coming in at No. 15 in the latest College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) poll. The Blue Devils (3-1, 1-1 ACC) jumped four spots in the national rankings following a competitive dual meet against then-No. 4 NC State Oct. 29.
Duke's men (3-1, 0-1 ACC) received votes in the poll for the second time on the season following a 185-110 victory over Northwestern in the team's last outing.
The Blue Devils were one of seven ACC squads listed among the top 25 of the women's rankings, joining No. 3 Virginia, No. 6 NC State, No. 8 Louisville, No. 19 Notre Dame, No. 20 North Carolina and No. 25 Virginia Tech. On the men's side, the Wolfpack reached No. 1 in the coaches poll for the first time in school history, while No. 10 Louisville, No. 12 Virginia Tech, No. 16 Virginia, No. 21 Notre Dame and No. 24 Georgia Tech also represented the ACC. Duke and the North Carolina men received votes.
Both Duke teams return to action next weekend, competing Nov. 17-19 at the NC State GAC Invite at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.
