DURHAM – The Duke baseball team is prepped and ready for a three-game ACC series at rival North Carolina this weekend at Boshamer Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C.

- Duke (12-13, 5-10 ACC) travels to North Carolina (15-12, 9-9 ACC) this weekend for a three-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, followed by 2 p.m. on Saturday a 12 p.m. start on Sunday.
- The Blue Devils are currently in the second game of a eight-game stand playing teams from the state of North Carolina.
- Junior RHP Cooper Stinson is among the ACC's best and leads the conference in hits per nine innings (5.40) and opponent batting average (.173).

SERIES HISTORY
One of Duke baseball's oldest rivalries, Duke and North Carolina will face off for the 294th time in the two programs' history. North Carolina currently leads the series, 186-104-3 and holds an 88-33 record in games played in Chapel Hill. The first game was played in 1891, making North Carolina Duke's third oldest opponent of all-time. Most recently, Duke dropped a three-game series in Chapel Hill in 2019. The Blue Devils are seeking their first series win in Chapel Hill since 2009 when Duke won two of three. Head coach

SCOUTING THE TAR HEELS
North Carolina enters the game with a 15-12 record, including a 9-9 conference mark, and have been in and out of national polls throughout the first half of the season. The Tar Heels are coming off a 3-2 win in extra innings over South Carolina. North Carolina has power, boasting 33 home runs this season, second in the ACC. The Tar Heels pitching staff is allowing a .227 batting average at the plate, second in the conference. Justice Thompson and Caleb Roberts lead Carolina at the plate. Thompson leads the team in batting average (.333), runs (24), hits (35) and stolen bases (12). Roberts boasts seven home runs, 21 RBIs, 18 walks and a .600 slugging percentage, all to lead the team.

ONE OF THE BLUE DEVILS MOST STORIED SERIES
Duke takes the field against North Carolina for the 294th time this weekend, making the Duke-North Carolina series the second-largest series in program history. The two teams first recorded meeting came in 1891, making it the third oldest series in Duke history and the oldest current series that is still being played now.

PITCHING, DEFENSE NOT MAKING IT EASY
Junior
Cooper Stinson leads the team and the ACC, allowing just 5.40 hits per game throughout the season. Stinson also leads the league in opponent batting average as the junior is allowing batters just a .173 clip. In addition, the Peachtree Corners, Ga., native ranks 17th in the league in ERA with a 3.81 mark.

ROTHENBERG JOINING THE RECORD BOOKS
Senior
Michael Rothenberg is currently tied for 22nd in program history in home runs (17) and 11th in program history in hit-by-pitch (29). He is also nearing the top 25 lists of school history in walks and RBIs as well. The Boca Raton native has 76 career walks, nearing Luis Duarte's 86 from 1992-95 that rank 25th. His 101 career RBIs are approaching JD Alleva (1998-01) and Jeff Piscorik (1992-95) who tie for 25th in school history with 122.

STRIKING THEM OUT IN BUNCHES
Duke has recorded 18 strikeouts in two games this year to set the record for most strikeouts in a game under head coach
Chris Pollard. The Blue Devils first accomplished this feat on March 6 as sophomore
Henry Williams recorded 11 while sophomore
Jimmy Loper added seven more to lead the Blue Devils to a 8-1 win over Pittsburgh. Duke also struck out 18 in a redetermined staff day against NC Central on April 6. Freshman
Luke Fox led the way with a career-high six strikeouts in 2.0 innings of work.

MATT, LOPERFIDO RECORD CAREER HIT NO. 150
Senior
Joey Loperfido registered his 150th career hit with a double against NC Central on April 6. Graduate
Peter Matt recorded his 150th career hit at Notre Dame on March 19. His 162 career hits current rank in the top 140 career leaders while Loperfido's 150 hits rank in the top 200 in the category in Division I. Prior to Duke, Matt played four seasons at Penn.
