DURHAM – No. 7 Duke women's lacrosse (15-2, 6-2 ACC) is set for its quarterfinal matchup against No. 20 Notre Dame (8-8, 3-5 ACC) Friday in South Bend, Ind. Opening draw is set for 2:30 p.m., on ACC Network with Jay Alter, Sheehan Stanwick Burch & Dana Boyle on the call.

SCOUTING THE FIGHTING IRISH
The Fighting Irish enter Friday's game 8-8 overall and 3-5 in conference play. They closed out the regular season on a three-game win streak. Offensively, Notre Dame is led by Kasey Choma (59 pts.), Madison Ahern (65 pts.), Jane Wolak (55 pts.) and Maddie Howe (49 pts.). The Fighting Irish are averaging 15.31 goals and 33.60 shots per game. Veteran goalkeeper Bridget Deehan has amassed nearly 900 minutes in the cage and owns an 11.35 GAA and a .452 save percentage.

Christine Halfpenny is the fourth head coach Duke faced this season under Kimel's tree. Halfpenny spent three seasons in Durham as a assistant coach under Kimel. During her time at Duke, The Blue Devils won the 2005 ACC postseason tournament title, won or shared three straight ACC regular-season crowns and made three straight NCAA Championship appearances, advancing to the national semifinals in both 2005 and 2006.

DUKE IN THE ACC TOURNAMENT

Kerstin Kimel, the Blue Devils are 12-23 all-time in the ACC Championship and 6-4 in the quarterfinal round. 2022 marks the ninth time Duke has received the No. 4 seed and is 2-6 (.500) in games played as the fourth seed. Duke will face Notre Dame in conference tournament action for the third time with the series tied 1-1. The two squads previously met last year in the first round when the Fighting Irish secured a 17-16 victory in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Blue Devils own one ACC title, which came in 2005.
