Quotes
"I told them afterwards I thought that Virginia played the big points better than we did. We put ourselves in positions and I thought when we were in those positions and when we were up, we didn't do a good job of finishing. But I think across the board, Virginia played deuce points and the three-all points tougher than we did. I thought we just backed off a little bit in those situations. I told them we just need to be tougher, we need to be better and we need to be smarter. When we are in those situations, we can't give away points, which I thought we did across the board starting with the doubles. And that carried over into singles. We were up in some games, had some momentum and then we would give it away with some free points. When it got tight, Virginia did a good job of stepping up. We just have to be a little bit better than that. These matches are so close, no matter who you play. It's a matter of three or four points here and there and the match was completely different. Two different points in doubles, we win the doubles point and the whole result is different. A couple of points in singles and the whole thing is different. So, we have to value every point that we play and play those points smart." -- Duke head coach
Jamie Ashworth
