NCAA QUARTERFINAL INFORMATION
- The University at Albany is hosting the NCAA Quarterfinals Saturday at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium. The games are at 12 and 2:30 p.m., and will be televised by ESPNU. Virginia and Georgetown square off in the first game of the day.

THE OPENING FACEOFF
- Duke, 14-2 on the year, is the top seed in the NCAA Tournament and takes on Michigan in the quarterfinal round in Albany Saturday. This is the fourth time the Blue Devils have earned the top spot in the bracket.
- Michigan is arguably the hottest team in the country, riding a five-game win streak that included wins over No. 4 Penn State, No. 7 Maryland and No. 6 Cornell. The Wolverines defeated Cornell in overtime in the opening round.
- The attack unit of Andrew McAdorey, Brennan O'Neill and Dyson Williams have paced the Blue Devils. The trio is averaging 8.3 goals and 12.4 points per game and has 53 percent of the team's 374 points. Duke has gotten goals from 23 different players this season.
- Duke's defense has been solid overall, holding teams to just .285 shooting and to 11.3 goals per game. The Blue Devils are allowing 10.69 goals per game.
- Graduate student transfer William Helm is solid in the cage, averaging 10.12 saves per game and sporting a .516 save percentage.
- Junior faceoff specialist Jake Naso features a .636 win percentage at the dot to rank fifth nationally. He ranks third in faceoffs taken (423) and first in faceoffs won. Nick Rowlett and Justin Wietfeldt share faceoff duties, winning a combined 61 percent at the dot.

SERIES HISTORY
- Duke and Michigan meet for the first time in the programs' histories. The Blue Devils have played five of the six current Big Ten programs, going 46-77 in those games.
- Johns Hopkins, Maryland and Ohio State are the lone Big Ten programs Duke has faced since the conference, as it stands now, was formed in 2015. Duke is 3-3 against them with all six games coming in NCAA postseason action.

DUKE IN NCAA TOURNAMENT TIDBITS
- Duke is making its 25th NCAA Tournament appearance and is the No. 1 seed for the fourth time. The Blue Devils are 41-21 all-time in NCAA postseason, 13-5 in quarterfinals and 10-2 overall as the top seed.
- The Blue Devils are 32-11 in the NCAA Tournament under John Danowski and have advanced to 11 NCAA Semifinals under his watch.
- The Blue Devils are one of 10 Division I programs to appear in at least 25 NCAA Tournaments. Duke's 41 wins in 25 showings makes it one of eight teams to have more wins than appearances. The Blue Devils rank fifth in NCAA Tournament wins.
DANOWSKI IN NCAA TOURNAMENT
- John Danowski has led the Blue Devils to 15 NCAA appearances. Prior to Duke missing the tournament in 2022, Danowski had led a team to the NCAA Tournament for 15 consecutive seasons, tying him with two other active coaches - Bill Tierney (Princeton, 1990-04) and Kevin Corrigan (Notre Dame, 2006-21) - with a streak of 15 consecutive NCAA berths.
- A Danowski led team has appeared in 23 NCAA postseasons, eight at Hofstra and 15 at Duke. He is 36-19 all-time in NCAA Tournament action and currently ranks fourth in the records books in overall wins. Tierney leads the way with 44.
GETTING OFF THE LINE WELL
- Duke has gotten off to fast starts in its contests this season, leading after the first quarter in 12 of the 16 games. The Blue Devils are outscoring their foes 137-68 in the first half, including an impressive 68-33 mark in the second quarter.
- Duke is 11-1 when leading after the opening period and 12-1 when leading at halftime. The Blue Devils' opponents are shooting just 22 percent in the first half. In the second half this season, Duke is even at 103-103.
DUKE IN ONE GOAL GAMES
- Duke is 93-76 in games decided by one goal in program history
- Duke is 34-22 in one-goal contests since 2007 and played a program-high six one-goal games in 2019. The Blue Devils were 0-2 in one-goal games in 2022 and are 4-1 in 2023.
- Duke is 31-23-1 all-time in overtime games and 17-7 under Danowski. The Blue Devils are 11-8 in one-goal games in the NCAA Tournament.
