YOKOHAMA, Japan – Former Duke men's golfers
Max Greyserman and
Alex Smalley delivered standout performances at the PGA Tour's Baycurrent Classic, finishing in the top five on Sunday, Oct. 12, in Yokohama, Japan.
Greyserman earned runner-up honors for the second straight year at the event, carding a scorching 8-under-par 63 in Friday's second round before closing with a 6-under 65 in the final round. He finished at 18-under 266, just one stroke shy of the winner.
The performance continues an impressive stretch for Greyserman on the PGA Tour. Over the past two seasons, he has recorded nine top-10 finishes, including five runner-up results. During the 2025 campaign, Greyserman has made the cut in 20 of 27 events and ranks 16th in putting average (1.723) and 34th in driving distance (300.6). A standout for Duke from 2013-17, he is one of just five Blue Devils to record a hole-in-one during his collegiate career.
Smalley surged up the leaderboard on Sunday with a 7-under-par 64, climbing four spots to finish in a tie for fourth at 14-under 270. Since joining the PGA Tour in 2022, Smalley has tallied 12 top-10 finishes in 124 events, including two runner-up efforts. He currently ranks 14th in scoring average (69.47) this season.
One of the most decorated players in Duke men's golf history, Smalley holds program records for career scoring average (71.32), under-par rounds (67), rounds in the 60s (37) and top-five finishes (18) from 2015-19. He also owns Duke's single-season scoring record with a 70.35 average in 2018-19 and ranks third on that list with a 70.78 mark in 2017-18.
