DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women's basketball gave fans an early peek at the 2025-26 squad as the Blue Devils took part in the annual Countdown to Craziness event Friday evening at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Following performances by various Duke student groups, the women's team and head coach
Kara Lawson energized the crowd with team introductions. After Lawson addressed the crowd, the Blue Devils took the court for a scrimmage, with the white team posting a 27-19 victory.
Senior
Ashlon Jackson knocked down three trifectas and paced the victors with nine points, while junior
Delaney Thomas added eight on 4-of-5 shooting. Freshman
Emilee Skinner and junior
Jordan Wood rounded out the scoring with five points apiece.
Skinner and Thomas each pulled down two rebounds, tying junior
Jadyn Donovan for the team high. Donovan also tallied a team-best two steals, while senior
Taina Mair paced the Blue Devils in assists with three dimes.
The Duke men followed with player introductions and an intrasquad scrimmage off their own, with head coach
Jon Scheyer addressing the crowd in between the two sessions.
Duke officially tips off the 2025-26 season Nov. 3 in Paris where the Blue Devils will battle Baylor in the Oui-Play Paris event.
