DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke men's tennis program announced Wednesday the signing ofÂ
Ludvig Hede to the class of 2030.
"Ludvig is an impressive young man and tennis player," assistant coachÂ
TJ Pura said. "His genuine excitement for the holistic process of getting better is remarkable at his age and burns brighter by the day. This passion has taken him to the highest levels of junior tennis. We feel strongly that his college tennis experience will be no different."Â
Â
Hede, a native of Gothenburg, Sweden, holds a current ITF ranking of No. 54 with a career high of No. 30.Â
"I'm really proud and happy to join Duke," Hede said. "I can't wait to get started and to work with such great coaches and players."
Â
Hede has competed in all four junior grand slams, advancing to the second round in the Australian Open and US Open. He holds three career ITF junior singles titles and five career ITF junior doubles crowns.
Â
Hede's family is no stranger to collegiate tennis as his father, Johan, became the first player in Ole Miss history to qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships all four years of his career. He was the first Rebel to become a three-time All-America honoree and was a three-time All-SEC selection, a 1996 NCAA Semifinalist, the 1996 SEC Singles Champion and the 1996 SEC Player of the Year.Â
Â
"We cannot wait for Ludvig to join Duke men's tennis and add value to our team and culture in every way," Pura added.Â
