DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke men's tennis program announced Thursday the signing ofÂ
Sebastian Eie to the class of 2030.
"Sebastian is an excellent young man and player with huge upside," assistant coachÂ
TJ Pura said. "He has major weapons on the court and is growth-oriented, disciplined and earnest in his approach."Â
Â
A native of Oslo, Norway, Eie holds a current ITF singles ranking of No. 93 with a career high of No. 92.Â
"I'm really looking forward to joining Duke," Eie said. "It's the perfect place to develop both as a tennis player and as a person, and I can't wait to get started with the team."
Â
A proven winner, Eie owns three career ITF singles titles to go along with two ITF junior doubles championships. Recently, he made the singles final of the J200 Vigo and captured the doubles crown in the J200 Rakovnik.
Â
"It's going to be a lot of fun working with Sebastian and seeing him grow as a person and tennis player during his four years at Duke," Pura added.Â
Â
Eie has gained additional experience training with current world No. 12 Casper Ruud when both are in Oslo.Â
