DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke men's tennis program completed the announcement of its signing class Friday withÂ
Jakub Smejcky joining the class of 2030.
"Jakub is an all-time competitor who oozes passion for the game and thrives in big moments," assistant coachÂ
TJ Pura said. "He has a rock-solid game and is in the early stages of developing into a tremendous all-court player."Â
Â
From Prague, Czech Republic, Smejcky boasts a current ITF singles ranking of No. 119. His career-high singles ranking sits at No. 105.
"I'm incredibly excited and proud to be joining the Duke Men's Tennis Family," Smejcky said. "From the first time I talked with the coaches and saw the culture of the program, it just felt like the perfect fit for me both on and off the court. I can't wait to represent Duke, compete for championships and grow as both a player and a person. Go Blue Devils!"

Â
Smejcky has played exceptional tennis recently, claiming the J200 singles title in Monterrey. The victory brought his career total to four ITF junior singles championships to go along with five ITF junior doubles crowns.Â
Â
"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Jakub and help him excel on the court, in the classroom, and in life," Pura added.Â
