LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Duke sophomore midfielder

How it Happened
- The Blue Devils dominated the action in the opening quarter, firing five shots and winning two penalty corners. Duke put two of the shots on goal as Cal goalie Lauren Halenkamp turned away both attempts.
- Duke never let the Bears find any offensive rhythm, holding Cal without a shot for the first 15 minutes.
- After a scoreless first period, the Bears grabbed a 1-0 lead against the run of play on a fantastic individual effort by Liz Klompmaker. The All-ACC selection beat a pair of Duke defenders and fired a backhanded shot inside the far post for the 1-0 Cal lead in the 22nd minute.
- It didn't take Duke long to even the score as Boehringer pushed her drag flick off the penalty corner past the outstretched pads of Halenkemp and off the stick of a Cal defender.
- McVeigh put the Blue Devils ahead 1:37 later, tucking her strike inside the top left corner of the cage to give Duke a 2-1 halftime lead. The senior forward took advantage of just enough space from the Cal defender to score her 13th career game winner.
- The Blue Devils continued to roll with Shae Wozniak getting on the scoresheet with a perfect redirect off a pass from Szukics from 30 yards outside the circle. Boehringer made it a 4-1 game in the 42nd minute on a beautiful individual drive from the baseline. The super sophomore scored again 1:52 later with an assist from classmate Madison Beach.
- McVeigh and junior Maggie Kondrath rounded out the scoring for the Blue Devils with tallies in the 52nd and 54th minutes.
- Duke held a 28-1 advantage in shots and secured 11 penalty corners while not allowing one. Kaiya Chepow picked up her 12th win of the season.
