DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke field hockey team earned its 21st NCAA postseason berth and will take on Iowa in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Championship Nov. 14 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The opening pass-back is set for 2:30 p.m., on ESPN+.
The Blue Devils, earning an at-large bid for the third straight season, are 27-20 all-time in NCAA postseason action and face Iowa for the second time. Duke is 5-7 all-time in games played at North Carolina.
The Blue Devils faced Iowa in the NCAA Tournament in 2019, falling to the Hawkeyes, 3-2, at Karen Shelton Stadium. Duke is 5-6 against current Big 10 opponents in postseason play.
Duke, coming off a 5-2 loss to eventual ACC Champion and No. 1 North Carolina in the ACC Championship semifinal, are 12-7 overall with all seven setbacks coming against teams ranked in the top 10 and in the NCAA Championship field.

Julia Boehringer lead the offensive charge with 37 and 25 points, respectively.
Madison Beach has 11 assists, tied for 11th in Duke single season history.
Defensively, the Blue Devils have seven shutouts this season and allowed just eight goals in ACC play. Duke gave up multiple goals in a game four times this season - Liberty (4), Wake Forest (3) and North Carolina (2&5).
Kaiya Chepow is the anchor in goal with four shutouts, a 1.20 goals against average and a .656 save percentage.
The winner of Friday's contest faces the winner between North Carolina and Drexel/Saint Joseph's, Sunday Nov. 16 at Karen Shelton Stadium. Duke aims to return to the NCAA semifinals for the eighth time as the Blue Devils are set to serve as host for the national championship weekend.
