Duke resumes ACC play Sunday, Dec. 28 at Syracuse for a 4 p.m., tipoff inside the JMA Wireless Dome. The Blue Devils are coming off a short holiday break after posting consecutive victories by at least 30 points. Duke is 6-6 and 1-0 against conference foes and is beginning a stint of five ACC games in 15 days.
Duke's six losses are against the current NET No. 6 LSU, No. 3 UCLA, No. 4 South Carolina, No. 25 West Virginia, No. 30 Baylor and No. 79 South Florida. The Blue Devils are led on offense by sophomore Toby Fournier's 17.1 points per game. Ashlon Jackson is dropping 12.4 points per game and Taina Mair follows with an average of 12.1 to round out the double-digit scorers. Fournier and Delaney Thomas lead the charge on the glass, averaging 7.4 and 6.0 rebounds per game, respectively. Fournier is the top rim protector, averaging 2.4 blocks per game, while Jordan Wood is at 1.5 per game. Mair is the floor general, dishing 5.2 assists to 2.8 turnovers per game.
The Orange are an impressive 11-1 and 1-0 against conference foes, defeating SMU, 78-69. They are No. 40 in the NET rankings and sport a NET strength of schedule of 195. Syracuse is led by a trio of double-digit scorers, starting with Uche Izoje at 13.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Laila Phelia contributes 12.3, while Dominique Darius is right on her heels at 12.2. Darius is the offensive playmaker with 39 assists. Izoje is a menace around the basket on defense, averaging 2.9 blocks per game. Overall, Syracuse is scoring 76.3 points per game and holding teams to 54.4.
Duke looks to close the calendar year on a four-game win streak and extend its win streak against Syracuse to six games. The Blue Devils have not lost to the Orange under head coach Kara Lawson with the last setback to them coming in 2019 - a 64-55 setback inside Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke sports a average margin of victory of 16.3 in the past four meetings thanks to the 31-point win last season (80-49) in Durham.

Duke and Syracuse are meeting for the 14th time with the Blue Devils owning a 10-3 record versus the Orange. The Blue Devils have won five straight, including a commanding, 80-49, victory last season. The last win for the Orange against Duke came in 2019 in Durham.
Syracuse is playing its 10th home game of the season with the lone true road game coming against ACC foe SMU. The Orange has played two neutral site games, going 1-1 in those contests.
The Orange has held six of their 12 opponents to 50 or fewer points and has outrebounded 11 of the 12 foes. Syracuse's 12.4 steals per game rank second in the league as the Orange have forced at least 20 turnovers in nine of the 12 outings. The 11-1 Orange are averaging 24.7 points off turnovers this season.

 Individual Numbers Inside the Win Streak
Toby Fournier has shined for the Blue Devils during the three-game win streak, averaging 21.7 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. She has done well to stay out of foul trouble, committing just four fouls in the three games, while blocking eight shots.
Overall, Duke has four players averaging double digits over the course of the three games. Taina Mair has had the hot hand, shooting 56.7 percent from the floor overall and 54.5 from distance.
