QUOTES
- "I thought we pitched exceptionally well. We are one play away from getting off the field there with a shutout. I told Aidan Weaver, give us your best inning, and we'll figure it out from there. I said two at the most. We sent him back out there for the third, and he did a good job of getting himself off the field. I thought Max Stammel was really good. Gabe Nard and Reid Easterly kept doing what they had been doing. I thought our ability to own the box and take advantage of the HBP and turn that into offense was huge." – Head coach Chris Pollard on securing game one this week.
- "Huge. Huge. We wanted to get through that game with four or five guys at the most and not put any of those guys in a position where they extended past being ready to go this weekend. The cool thing was, the last three were so efficient that they are live Friday night." – On how the bullpen covered the game efficiently with five to play this week.
UP NEXT
- Duke and George Mason meet on Wednesday to close out a 10-game homestand. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
