QUICK HITS
- The Blue Devils secured their first ACC series victory on the league's opening weekend, defeating California on Saturday and Sunday to clinch the series. Across the final two contests, Duke's bullpen produced a 2-0 record with a 1.59 ERA. The six guys to pitch tossed a combined 11.1 innings, allowed seven hits and two runs, and struck out 13 batters. They held the Golden Bears lineup to a .179 batting average against.
- Two-out lightning returned for Duke this season, as the Blue Devils have produced 44 two-out RBI. This season, the 44 runs account for 33.3% of Duke's run production. Ben Miller leads the team with eight two-out RBI, while AJ Gracia (7) and Jake Berger (6) are just behind.
- The 2025 Duke squad is steadier at the plate, drawing 120 walks this season. That mark is sixth in the country, trailing VMI (154), Georgia State (131), Tennessee (131), Georgia (127), and Alabama (126). The 120 walks are also the most in the ACC.
- Duke and George Mason meet for the third and fourth times in program history this week, as the Blue Devils host the Patriots for two games. The last time these two teams met on the diamond, Duke won to the tune of 23-5, hitting a single-game program record 11 home runs in Conway, S.C., at the Baseball at the Beach Tournament. Seven different Blue Devils left the yard, led by AJ Gracia, who tallied three three-run home runs in the contest.
- Graduate Ben Miller has found his stride as of late and has begun chasing single-season and career records for Duke. In just his second year with the Blue Devils, Miller has collected 24 home runs, moving to within four of the career top 10 list. The Durham, N.C., native crushed his ninth of the season on Sunday, sitting seven home runs away from the single-season list led by Ryan Jackson (1994) with 22. As the season moves along, Miller is on pace to become the 14th Blue Devil in program history to finish their career with a .300 average or better and 20 or more home runs.
- Duke secured its first ACC series against one of two newcomers to the league this past weekend, defeating California on Sunday to clinch the series. The Blue Devils set their sights on another newcomer as they make the cross-country trek to Palo Alto, Calif., for the first ACC home contest for the Cardinal. Duke and Virginia are the first two ACC teams to head out West to welcome the pair to the league. This weekend will mark the first meeting between the Blue Devils and Stanford, and marks the third longest (longest conference trip) in program history as Duke played in the King Dome in 1990 against Washington and Notre Dame, and against California in 2015.
