- Duke hits the road for the first time in a month to take on No. 14 Richmond. Faceoff is at 12 p.m., and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
The Opening Faceoff
- Duke moved to 7-1 following its 16-10 midweek win over Providence. Max Sloat paced the balanced offensive effort with five goals and an assists while Luke Grayum had three extra-man goals. Eight differeing Blue Devils scored a goal and 11 had at least one point. Defensively, Duke held Providence scoreless for 17:57 to build a 7-1 lead en route to the 16-10 win.
- Richmond welcomes Duke to Robins Stadium with a 5-2 overall record and 3-1 mark at home. The Spiders' two losses are to current No. 1 Maryland (12-7) and No. 7 Cornell (12-11). They beat Virginia in Charlottesville and are coming off a 14-8 win versus UMBC. The trio of Lucas Littlejohn (15g, 6a), Max Merkinger (14, 7) and Aidan O'Neill (14, 6) lead the offense that is averaging 13.4 goals per game. Defensively, Richmond is holding opponents to 28.6 shots per game and to .275 shooting percentage. The Spiders have given up 10 goals in three games and are allowing just 7.86 goals per game.
- Duke and Richmond meet for the t0thime with three of Duke's seven wins coming by a single goal and Richmond's lone victory being a two-goal win. The other four Duke wins have come by an average of 7.2 goals.

Last Time We Met
- Patrick Jameison made 12 saves as the third-ranked Blue Devils held No. 16 Richmond to just three goals in a 12-3 victory in men's at Robins Stadium last year.
- Brennan O'Neill paced the offense with three goals and two assists, while Josh Zawada had two goals and two assists for four points. Defensively, the Blue Devils held Richmond to scoreless stretches of 17:53 and 31:56. Tyler Carpenter was outstanding on defense with three caused turnovers and five ground balls.
The Dangerous Duo of the EMO
- Graduate students Eric Malever and Luke Grayum are proving to be difficult to handle on extra man this season. Both have five man-up goals apiece, leading the ACC and ranking second nationally. Grayum recently had three against Providence, marking the first time a Blue Devil had three EMO tallies since Max Quinzani did so against Yale in 2009.
Aidan [Magoo] Maguire
- Nicknamed Magoo by his teammates, Aidan Maguire is having a career year. The junior shortstick middie leads all Blue Devils with 19 caused turnovers and 30 ground balls.
- He has multiple caused turnovers in seven of eight games this season and has recorded three in three out of the past four outings. He has also picked up at least three ground balls in seven of eight games. He is at the top of the ACC and eighth nationally in caused turnovers per game and is fifth in the ACC in ground balls per game (3.75). With 44 career caused turnovers, Maguire is 10th on the Duke career chart. The single-season record is 37 held by LSM Luke Duprey. He is on track to become the first Blue Devil SSDM to have 20 caused turnovers in a season and just the seventh in NCAA history to have at least 25.
