UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Junior Rachel Koo captured All-America honors as the NCAA Fencing Championships concluded. The Old Tappan, N.J., product placed eighth in foil to earn second team recognition.
Koo advanced to the national event for the second time in her career and first since 2023. She finished the championship in 18th place and made a 10-jump improvement in her return trip. Koo gives the Blue Devil women an All-America selection in foil for five of the last six years. She finished with a 15-8 mark during the two days of competition.
Blue Devil sophomore Charlotte Koenig took 17th in her second NCAA appearance. Koenig posted a 9-14 record during the event.
Overall, Duke finished in 12th place with 47 points. Notre Dame claimed the title with 183 points.
"A fantastic performance from our four-fencer squad at the NCAA Championships!" head coach Omar Elgeziry said. "Finishing in the top 12, we surpassed schools with larger rosters, showcasing our team's resilience. Huge congrats to Rachel Koo, Charlotte Koenig, Dayaal Singh and Joseph Glasson, with special recognition to our All-Americans — Rachel (Second Team) and Dayaal (Honorable Mention)."
