DURHAM, N.C. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced its 2025 Division I All-America selections Thursday afternoon, with Duke graduate
Callie Hem and senior
Carly Bernstein earning third team honors.
The two standout attackers were key contributors for the Blue Devils this season. Both Hem and Bernstein were named Second Team All-ACC, received Honorable Mention All-America recognition from
Inside Lacrosse and
USA Lacrosse Magazine and were named to the IWLCA South All-Region team.
A native of Needham, Mass., Hem led the team with 67 goals and added five assists to finish with 72 points on the season. She recorded three or more goals in 13 games and matched both her career high and a program single-game record with eight goals in the NCAA Championship first round against James Madison. Her eight goals also tied for second-most in NCAA Championship tournament history for a single game.
Hem was named ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week April 8 after starring in Duke's 14-13 win over No. 18 Brown and a 14-10 victory at Pittsburgh. She netted four goals on five shots against Brown, while against Pitt, she tallied six goals, including a perfect 2-for-2 on free-position shots, plus an assist for seven points.
Bernstein, a Short Hills, N.J. native, led the Blue Devils in total points with 82, scoring 46 goals and adding 36 assists. She recorded four or more points in 11 games, highlighted by two eight-point performances against Johns Hopkins and Louisville.
In Duke's single-season record books, Bernstein ranks 11th in points, seventh in assists and 18th in goals. She also holds sixth place in career assists with 80. Earlier this year, she surpassed both 50 career goals and 50 career assists—a mark only 18 players in program history have reached.
Hem and Bernstein helped Duke advanced to its 17th NCAA Championship quarterfinal appearance this year. The Blue Devils finished the season with a 14-6 overall record and a 6-3 mark in ACC games — their highest win totals in both categories since 2022.
