LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The 12th-ranked Blue Devils used a 10-goal first half to secure the dominant 17-7 win over Louisville on Saturday afternoon at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium. Duke improves to 12-3 overall and 6-2 in ACC games, while the Cardinals drop to 7-9 and 1-7 in conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Duke took the 2-0 lead to open the game, seeing goals from Bernstein and Shearer within the first eight minutes.
- The Cardinals netted their first goal at the 9:46 mark to cut Duke's lead to 2-1, but the Blue Devils responded with a three-goal run.
- Duke's run started when Bernstein forced a turnover from the Louisville goalkeeper, snatched the ground ball and slotted it into the back of the net. Shearer scored her second goal of the game off a quick stick from a Pronti feed. Less than a minute later, Barrett scored, rounding out the Blue Devils' run at 5-1.
- The Cardinals scored the last goal of the first period, decreasing Duke's lead to 5-2.
- Louisville opened the second quarter with a goal, but Hem scored off a Bernstein assist to hold the three-goal lead, 6-3, and start a five-goal scoring run.
- Goodwin scored her first goal of the game with 7:42 remaining in the first half. Bernstein followed, scoring two goals less than a minute apart, and Shearer scored at the 13:07 mark to make it 10-3.
- Louisville scored the final goal of the first half, sending Duke into the break leading 10-4.
- The Blue Devils held Louisville scoreless the entire third quarter and scored four goals to push their lead to 14-4.
- Just over two minutes into the third quarter, Hem found the back of the cage. Pronti fed Hem to push Duke's lead to 12-4. Bernstein scored two goals, first with nine minutes remaining and again with six seconds left on the clock to secure the 14-4 lead going into the final quarter.
- Pronti slotted the ball into the back of the net less than a minute into the final period. The Cardinals went on a two-goal run stretching from the 3:45 mark to the 8:33 mark to decrease Duke's lead to 15-6.
- Goodwin slotted in a man-up goal off a Bernstein assist to push Duke's lead to 16-6.
- The Cardinals scored their final goal with under three minutes remaining, but Gagliano slotted in the final goal of the contest, securing the 17-7 win for the Blue Devils.
