- This weekend's matchup features a pair of USA Baseball 18U alumni taking the field, as sophomore Macon Winslow and Clemson's Talan Bell square off in league play. The duo played together on the 2022 18U National Team, which secured a gold medal at the Florida WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup.
- Graduate Reid Easterly posted a stellar month of April for the Blue Devils, appearing in nine contests. He tallied a 0.78 ERA, with a record of 4-0 on the bump. Easterly worked 23 innings, allowing two earned runs to score, and punched out 21 batters. Opponents were batting .159 off the southpaw during that stretch.
- Three Blue Devils closed the month of April on a hot streak, as AJ Gracia, Ben Miller, and Sam Harris all posted averages above .340. Gracia led the way with a .361/.639/.512 slash line, while Miller slashed .348/.652/.450, and Harris was .341/.780/.400. The trio combined for 59 hits, 10 doubles, 15 home runs, 50 RBI, 32 walks, and five hit-by-pitches.Â
- The Blue Devils have turned into one of the hottest teams in the country over the past 10 games of the season, posting a 9-1 record over that span. In their last 10 games, the Blue Devils have posted a .351 average at the plate, scoring 114 runs, while allowing 38 runs to cross. The pitching staff has produced a 3.81 ERA with 105 strikeouts, holding opponents to a .195 average against. Duke has also run-ruled its last four opponents in Virginia Tech (14-0), Radford (15-0, 17-5), and Queens (12-2).
- Sophomore outfielder AJ Gracia has turned the corner since the second half of the season began, posting a .400 (30-for-75) average across the last 20 contests. He has scored 24 runs, collected eight doubles, six home runs, and driven in 26 RBI. He has added 23 walks to eight strikeouts and stole three bases. His OPS has reached 1.292 throughout that span as well.Â
