JEJU ISLAND, Korea – The United States U20 Men's National Team turned in another dominant performance, defeating the Haudenosaunee, 19-5, in the U20 World Lacrosse Championship semifinal. The victory sets up a rematch with Canada in the gold medal game Sunday.
With an unblemished Pool A showing and a 59-2 all-time record in international junior men's lacrosse, the U.S. now sets sights on its 10th gold medal. As with all games during this U20 championship, Sunday's gold medal game will be streamed live at
tv.worldlacrosse.sport. Opening faceoff is set for Aug. 24 at 12 a.m. (ET).
Patrick Jameison once again played the final 30 minutes, making four saves to secure the commanding victory. He has split time with Anderson Moore between the pipes throughout the tournament.
The U.S. led 7-2 after the first quarter and, 11-3, at halftime. The lead extended to 10 goals, 15-5 in the third quarter as Jameison shut out the Haudenosaunee in the fourth quarter.
The win pushes the United States into the gold medal game against rival Canada. In the first meeting between the two countries was a heart-stopping affair with Jameison making a last-second stop to lift the U.S. to a 7-6 victory.
