HARRISON, N.J. – In a game featuring five former Blue Devils, it was standout longstick midfielder
Tyler Carpenter and the New York Atlas coming away with the 2025 US Bank PLL Championship trophy with a thrilling 13-12 win over Denver Outlaws at Sports Illustrated Stadium.
The New York Atlas scored three of the game's final four goals, holding the high-powered Denver offense to just one marker in the fourth quarter to earn the franchise its first title.
Carpenter finished the game with five ground balls while helping the Atlas defense hold the Outlaws to just 28 percent shooting and to zero two-point goals. Trevor Baptiste dominated at the faceoff stripe, winning 22-of-31 restarts.
Representing Denver in the title matchup was JT Giles-Harris,
Jack Gray, Michael Manley and
Brennan O'Neill. O'Neill paced the offense with a hat trick, while Giles-Harris and Gray both had one ground ball in the defensive effort. Manley finished his afternoon with a caused turnover and fired off two shots.
Carpenter, in his second year in the league, ended the year with 34 ground balls, seven caused turnovers and a goal and an assist in 12 games.
The New York Atlas is led by former Duke head coach Mike Pressler, while former Duke men's lacrosse assistant coach Joe Cinosky is an assistant coach with the club.
