DURHAM, N.C. – Duke swimming and diving opens its 2026-27 season Friday evening, as it travels to Davidson for a battle against the Wildcats. Action is scheduled to get underway at 5 p.m.

Notables
- Duke's women's team finished t-21st at the NCAA Championships last season. The men impressed at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships, finishing in fourth place.
- At the NCAA Championships, the Blue Devils' 200-yard and 400-yard medley relay squads collected Second Team All-America accolades. Returners from those teams include senior Ali Pfaff and sophomore Heather White.
- Head Coach Brian Barnes enters his fourth season at the helm of the Blue Devils, carrying a 14-8 mark with the women's program and a 5-17 record with the men.
- Last season, the women's team posted a 6-2 record, including wins over East Carolina, Boston College, Davidson, North Carolina, Northwestern and Georgia Tech. The men went 3-5, while defeating Marymount, Boston College and Davidson.
- Last season, Duke set seven program records under the direction of Barnes and staff. Pfaff is the only female returner who set a program record last season, as she became the fastest Blue Devil in the 100 and 200 backstrokes. On the men's side, Charlie Kulp set the program record in the 500 freestyle.
- The women's program opens the season ranked No. 21 in the CSCAA Swimming and Diving Poll, while the men are not ranked. Duke is one of seven ACC programs ranked on the women's side, with Virigina and Stanford holding down the top two spots.
- Duke welcomes 16 freshmen to this year's team, including seven men and nine females. Also joining the men's team is graduate transfer Alex Seybold, who previously attended and competed for Cal Poly.
- The Blue Devils made one addition to the coaching staff going into the season, as Colin Gibson joined Duke as an assistant coach.
- Duke had a pair of athletes compete in international meets this summer, as freshman Ethan Bathala represented the United States at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships, and sophomore Heather White competed for the Philippines at the Asian Games.

2025: Duke vs. Davidson
- Last season, Duke hosted Davidson inside the Taishoff Aquatic Center. Both the men (203-96) and women (237-59) picked up decisive victories for the Blue Devils.
