DURHAM, N.C. – Following a split weekend to open ACC play, Duke volleyball is set to begin its home conference slate as it welcomes Georgia Tech on Friday at 6:30 p.m., and Clemson on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Duke (9-3, 1-1 ACC) won its conference opener against Wake Forest 3-2 last Friday, marking the third consecutive season it has opened ACC play with a victory. On Sunday, the Blue Devils dropped a four-set battle to NC State in Raleigh.

The First Serve
For the third consecutive season, Duke opened conference play with a victory, as it defeated Wake Forest 3-2 on the road last Friday night.
Ashby Zubchevich had a dominant showing for the Blue Devils, recording a team-high 26.5 points. She tallied 19 kills, five service aces and a career-high five blocks.
On Sunday against NC State, Duke battled tough for four sets but was unable to force a winner-take-all fifth set, falling 3-1.
Nataly Moravec had her third 20-plus kill match of the season with a team-high 21.
Moravec impressed the entire weekend for the Blue Devils, recording 38 kills on a .264 hitting percentage. In the nine sets, she averaged 4.22 kills per set and 4.72 points per set. On the season, the graduate student ranks fourth in the ACC in kills per set (4.32) and points per set (4.79). Zubchevich is sixth in the league in kills per set (3.91) and fifth in points per set (4.73). The Blue Devils are the only team among Power Four schools to have multiple players rank inside the top five in their conference in points per set.
By the Numbers
- Nikki Quinn continues to rank first in the ACC in assists per set with 11.00. As a team, Duke ranks third in the conference and 18th nationally with 13.11 assists per set.
- Duke is averaging 14.02 kill per set, which ranks 21st in the country and third in the conference.
- Zubchevich ranks 12th in the country and first in the ACC in service aces per set with 0.65. She recorded five in Duke's win over Wake Forest.
- The Blue Devils have been impressive at the service line this season, tallying 97 aces (2.16 per set). That's good for first in the ACC and 33rd in the country, while the per set average is also first in the conference and 10th in the country.
Scouting Georgia Tech
- The Yellow Jackets enter the second weekend of ACC play with a 10-3 (2-0 ACC) record after sweeping Viriginia Tech and Virginia last weekend.
- Georgia Tech is receiving votes in the AVCA-Taraflex Poll. This week, the Yellow Jackets received 54 points, ranking them 29th in the country.
- Alida Bennour was named the ACC Freshman of the Week (Sept. 28) after registering 4.33 kills per set on a .438 hitting percentage. In Georgia Tech's win over Virginia, Bennour tallied 21 kills on 34 swings with two errors.
- Duke is looking for its first win over Georgia Tech since Oct. 27, 2017. The Yellow Jackets have won the last eight matchups.

Scouting Clemson
- Clemson enters this weekend with a 6-8 (0-2 ACC) record. The Tigers dropped their first two conference matches at home, falling to Virginia Tech in five sets and Virginia in four.
- The Tigers are led offensively by Anika Groom, who has a team-high 163 kills and 3.08 kills per set. Groom also leads Clemson with 183.5 points.
