DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's cross country team climbed into the top 25 of the USTFCCCA National Rankings, landing 24th after a strong performance at the 2026 Under Armour Pre-Nationals Invitational.
Duke's No. 24 ranking is the first time the Blue Devils have been in the top 25 since the 2013 season. The Blue Devils are one of eight teams from the ACC ranked in the top 25.
The Blue Devils are coming off a sixth-place showing at the Pre-Nationals Invitational in Terre Haute, Indiana. Duke also had a fourth-place finish at the Meadows Challenge and took second at the Richmond Invitational.
Duke is led by sophomore
Victoria Garces' two sub-20 minute races this season. She took second in her first race of the year, posting a personal-best time of 19:43 to earn ACC Runner of the Week honors. She dropped nearly nine seconds off her time three weeks later at pre-nationals to finish 10th in a field of over 300 runners. She is currently ranked 46th in FloTrack's college cross country rankings.
The freshman tandem of
Cassidy Armstrong and
Sundara Weber have been excellent in their first collegiate season with both posting strong races at both the Meadows Challenge and pre-nationals. Weber was named the ACC Freshman of the Week after a speedy 20:09 in her first collegiate race, while Armstrong was second across the line for the Blue Devils at pre-nationals.
Duke begins postseason racing at the ACC Championships, Oct. 30, in Blacksburg, Virginia. The races will be televised on ACC Network.
