LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Graduate student
Stephanie Moss headlined the Duke cross country lineup with an All-ACC performance in formidable team showings by the Blue Devils at the 2025 ACC Cross Country Championships at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky.
The Blue Devil women took sixth place overall with 198 points. The sixth-place showing is Duke's highest finish since taking fourth in 2020. Duke's men's team took ninth, running an outstanding team race with the top seven runners all finishing in the top 82.
NC State cruised to the women's title with 28 team points while Notre Dame took second in the women's 6k race with 89 points. Virginia edged Syracuse for the ACC title, beating the Orange by four points in an exciting conclusion to the men's 8k competition.
Women's ACC Championship
- Moss captured All-ACC recognition for the Blue Devils, covering the 6k course in 19:47.8. The veteran harrier came across the 1k mark in 22nd place and picked up six spots, hitting the halfway mark at 9:49.5. She continued her push up the standings, moving to 10th through 5k and finished the final 1k in 3:05 to finish 11th.
- Senior Jette Beerman was next across the line for the Blue Devils in 28th with a time of 20:12.7. Freshman Victoria Garces hit the tape in 20:26 for 43rd, while seniors Poppy Craig-McFeely and Audrey Dadamio rounded out Duke's top five in 53rd and 75th, respectively. Lucca Fulkerson (20:57.9) and Grace Ping (21:03.0) completed Duke's scoring contingency.
- It was a career day for many Blue Devils as Beerman turned in her best time of the season by an impressive 35 seconds and the fastest of her collegiate career by six seconds. Craig-McFeely also cut 27 seconds off her previous personal-best 6k effort. Fulkerson dropped 23 seconds from her previous season-best and Grace Ping had a strong race in her first 6k competition this year.
Men's ACC Championship
- Senior Charlie Siebert led the way for the Blue Devils, covering the 8k in a personal-best time of 23:47.9 for 43rd place. The time is three seconds faster than his 23:50 at the 2024 Ivy League Championships.
- After crossing the 1k mark in 87th place, Siebert picked up his pace over the next 2k to move up 24 spots. The Columbia University transfer ran the final 3k in 8:42, passing 12 runners before hitting the tape.
- The Blue Devils ran a fabulous team race, pulling each other along with the next six runners finishing 15 spots apart. Senior Jack Stanley crossed the line in 67th at 24:07 to lead the second Duke pack. His time was 45 seconds faster than his one other race this season.
- It was all Duke in places 74 through 82 with five Blue Devils in the nine spots. Arthur Graham (24:09.8) and Rendon Kuykendall (24:10.8) were 74th and 76th, respectively. Nick Falk (24:15.7), Declan McDonnell (24:15.7) and Eli Fitchen-Young (24:17.2) raced their way to 79th, 80th and 82nd, crossing the line just 1.5 seconds apart.
- Fitchen-Young bested his previous best time of this season by 40 seconds, and Kuykendall dropped 34 seconds off his fastest effort in 2025. Falk and McDonnell also turned in their best times of the season, cutting eight and 15 seconds, respectively.
