CHARLOTTE, N.C.—Duke senior midfielder
Max Sloat was named the ACC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week following his six-point outing in the Blue Devils' season-opening win Monday afternoon.
Sloat matched his career highs with five goals and six points as Duke cruised past Bellarmine, 23-8, to open the 2026 season. The San Mateo, California native had a hat trick in the first quarter and scored all five of his goals in the opening 30 minutes. He tacked on an assist early in the third quarter.
The Preseason All-ACC midfielder's five goals came on just seven shots in the game and were half of Duke's 10 first-half goals. In 42 career games, Sloat has 50 goals and 25 assists for 75 points.
The 11th-ranked Blue Devils return to action Friday, Feb. 6 against Utah. Faceoff is set for 5 p.m., on ACC Network.
