DURHAM, N.C.—The Duke women's golf program is set to travel to Hilton Head, South Carolina as the 12th-ranked Blue Devils will compete in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. The event will take place March 2-4 at the Long Cove Club.
The event will feature an impressive field that includes Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Duke, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, Northwestern, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.
Each team will play 18 holes all three days with tee times opening from 9:30-11:50 a.m., Monday and from 9:20-11:40 a.m., Tuesday and Wednesday.
Duke will travel a lineup that includes graduate student
Andie Smith, junior
Katie Li, sophomore
Carla De Troia, freshman
Avery McCrery and freshman
Rianne Malixi.
In her last collegiate event, Malixi registered her first individual title as she turned in a Duke record 16-under, 200, to win the Sea Best Intercollegiate in Florida.
It will mark the 11th time Duke has competed in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. The Blue Devils have won the event twice in 2014 and 2015 and owns seven top-5 placements in program history. Leona Maguire (2015) and Yu Liu (2014) both won the event as an individual.
The Golf Channel will broadcast the tournament with live coverage each day from 2:30-5:30 p.m.
Duke opens play Monday beginning at 10:20 a.m., off hole No. 10 along with Vanderbilt and Kentucky.
