- Smith made his Duke debut against Princeton after missing the first 12 games of the season due to injury. Smith led all of Division I in RBI last season at Charleston Southern, with 79 across 50 games played. The graduate student's has helped offset the loss of Cider Canon's production at the plate, with eight RBI in his first seven games, highlighted by leaving the yard on each of his first two Duke hits and recording a three-RBI night at High Point.
- Duke outfielder Tyler Albright has already worked 26 walks this season, leading the country. The senior is already more than halfway to his previous season-high of 45, set last year in 62 games. Albright is averaging 1.4 walks per game, ranked third nationally.
- Shortstop Jake Lambdin has hit leadoff in all but two of Duke's games this year and has grown more comfortable at the plate. The Xavier transfer is slashing .290/.412/.594, hit his fourth homer of the season at High Point on Tuesday and is a perfect 12-for-12 on stolen bases.
- Duke has broken ground on the David Koch Jr. Player Performance Center, the program announced on Feb. 26. The 8,000 square foot facility, designed by EwingCole and built by LeChase Construction Services, will feature a pitching lab, hitting lab, and training lab, with direct access to Jack Coombs Field. Duke student-athletes will be able to utilize several developmental technologies, including Trajekt, iPitch, NewtForce, Trackman and KinaTrax.
- The Blue Devils announced the hire of Mike Salvino as the program's general manager on Feb. 23. Salvino steps into the role with a goal of building championship teams while also mentoring student-athletes on how to grow their personal brands and prepare for professional careers beyond the game.
