DURHAM, N.C. — The Duke women's tennis team returned to action Friday afternoon as the 24th-Blue Devils registered a 4-0 victory against Louisville inside Ambler Tennis Stadium. With the win, Duke collected its 18th win in a row at home. The Blue Devils moved to 10-3 overall and 4-0 in the ACC this season, while the Cardinals dropped to 9-5, 1-5.Â

How It Happened
- In doubles action, the Duke tandem of Irina Balus and Eleana Yu dropped the first game to Berta Miret and Elena Noguero on court two, but came back to win six in a row to total a 6-1 victory.Â
- The Blue Devils then clinched the doubles point as 13th-ranked Liv Hovde and Shavit Kimchi totaled a 6-3 win over Alic Otis and Lika Peresypkina on court one. Hovde and Kimchi opened with a 2-0 lead. Louisville responded with a win to cut the lead to 2-1. The Blue Devils went on to win three games in a row to go ahead, 5-1. The Cardinals tried to mount a comeback by winning two games, but Duke closed out the match, 6-3, give Duke a 1-0 lead.Â
- On court three, Duke's Katie Codd and Ava Krug were tied, 5-5, against Germany Davis and Lucia Gallegos when the doubles point was clinched.Â
- The Blue Devils came out in singles and won the first set on four of the six courts.
- On court three, Duke's 107th-ranked Schuman faced Noguerno. After dropping the first game, Schuman broke Noguerno and then went ahead, 2-1. Noguerno evened the match, 2-2, but Schuman came back to win four games in a row to win the first set, 6-2. In the second set, Schuman opened with a 3-0 lead and went on to win the match, 6-1.Â
- With the first set tied on court one, 1-1, 13th-ranked Balus reeled off five games in a row to win, 6-1. Balus opened the second with a 2-0 lead, but Otis evened the score, 2-2. With the set tied, 4-4, Balus broke Otis and won the next game to register the win, 6-4.Â
- Duke held a 3-0 lead as Codd was leading Jaswal on court five. After falling behind in the first set, 2-1, Codd won five games in a row to win the first set, 6-2. Codd didn't drop a game in the second earning a 6-0 victory and clinched the Duke win.Â
- When the match was clinched, Hovde was even with Davis on court two, 3-6, 6-3, Kimchi was leading Miret, 6-2, 1-5, on court four and Krug was even with Gallegos, 5-7, 6-0, on court six.Â

- Katie Codd earned the clinching match for the second time this season and the seventh time over her career.
- Codd moved to 5-4 on the season and 40-30 over her collegiate career.Â
- Irina Balus improved to 14-6 overall and 3-0 in ACC action on the year in singles. She has won nine out of the last 10 contests.
- Aspen Schuman is now 8-2 overall and 4-0 in ACC play to open her college career.Â
