WASHINGTON D.C.—Duke senior men's lacrosse midfielder
Max Sloat has been added to the 2026 Tewaaraton Award Watch List, the Tewaaraton Foundation announced Thursday. Sloat is one of 15 players across the country to be considered a contender for the most prestigious award in college lacrosse.
Duke's leader on the first midfield line, Sloat is off to a strong start in 2026 with 12 goals and an assist for 13 points. The 12 markers are tied for second most on the team and are nearly 50 percent of his total of 26 in 18 games last season.
Sloat opened his senior campaign with a bang, scoring five goals and finishing with six points overall to lead Duke past Bellarmine. The native of San Mateo, California, has multiple goals in four of the five games and a pair of hat tricks. He has shot at least 50 percent in three of the five outings and sits at .364 for the year.
A three-year starter, Sloat has 57 goals and 25 assists for 82 career points. He is on pace to join the list of 51 other Blue Devils with 100 career points.
The fourth-ranked Blue Devils hit the road for the first time this weekend, traveling to Colorado Springs to take on Air Force. Faceoff is set for 2 p.m., (ET) on ESPN+.
