DURHAM, N.C. - Duke baseball fell, 10-4, to Notre Dame on Friday, March 6, in its first conference game of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Aidan Weaver made the start for Duke and pitched around one hit and one error in the top of the first, working a clean opening frame. The Blue Devils knocked two hits in the bottom half but were unable to bring in a run to start their day on offense.
- After perfect innings from both pitchers in the second, Notre Dame got on the board with an RBI single in the top of the third. The Fighting Irish tacked on five runs in the top of the fifth, with three home runs and an RBI single.
- Duke scored its first run of the contest in the bottom of the seventh, with Michael DiMartini sending his second homer of the season over the left-field fence. The visitors responded with four runs across the next two innings, taking a 10-1 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth.
- The Blue Devils answered with three runs in the final half inning, courtesy of a two-run home run from Matthew Strand and a solo shot by Bobby Marsh, closing out the 10-4 scoreline.
- Jack Radel earned the win for Notre Dame, pitching 7.0 innings, with nine strikeouts, two walks and one run allowed. After starting the season with three wins in as many starts, Weaver was tagged with his first loss of the year.

- Duke and Notre Dame play the second game of the weekend on Saturday, March 7. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m., at Jack Coombs Field.
