DURHAM, N.C. – Following a standout senior season, Duke softball's
Aminah Vega was tabbed the 2026 ACC Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year to headline the All-ACC Academic Team announced Tuesday afternoon.
Vega excelled both on the field and in the classroom, turning in a 3.83 GPA and graduated in May with a degree in psychology. Along with her conference honors, Vega received National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete and College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors.
The two-time NFCA First Team All-America pick was the engine behind one of the nation's top offenses as she led the Blue Devils in batting average (.462), runs (87), doubles (21), triples (5) and total bases (174).
The DeBary, Florida, native rewrote the Duke record books in her final season. She set the career doubles record with 67 and established the single-season doubles mark with 21, passing
Claire Davidson's mark of 20, set in 2024. Vega, Duke's starting second baseman in all 60 games this spring, sits second in Duke history with 301 career hits and became the program's career home run leader during the NCAA Super Regional at Arkansas with her 55th career long ball to pass
Ana Gold's 54.
