Collins, Roller & Vapensky Receive ACC Player of the Week Honors

DURHAM, N.C. – A trio of Duke women's soccer student-athletes received ACC Player of the Week accolades Tuesday as junior Katie Shea Collins was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week, senior Cameron Roller earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors and sophomore Molly Vapensky was tabbed the ACC Co-Goalkeeper of the Week.
The honors came after Duke registered an impressive 5-0 victory over No. 1 Stanford Sunday.
Collins received the ACC Offensive Player of the Week honor after totaling a goal, two assists and drawing a penalty kick against No. 1 Stanford. She contributed to four of Duke's five goals scored on the afternoon. Collins was also selected as the TopDrawerSoccer National Player of the Week Tuesday.
A native of Gallatin, Tennessee, Collins opened the scoring Sunday in the 15th minute to put the Blue Devils ahead, 1-0. In the 36th minute, Collins added an assist to give Duke a 2-0 lead as she set up Avery Oder with a perfect pass in the box. Collins assisted on Duke's third goal in the 52nd minute and then drew a penalty kick in the 79th minute. She has now scored a goal in five consecutive games and ranks second on the team with six tallies.
Duke's five goals were the most the Blue Devils have scored against a No. 1 team in program history.
Roller was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week, which marks the third time in her career she has earned the honor (2024, 2025). A product of Sherman, Texas, Roller played the entire 90 minutes in a 5-0 victory over Stanford. She assisted on the Blue Devils' third goal of the match and helped Duke collect its third shutout of the season. Roller, the 2024 ACC Defensive Player of the Year, has now helped Duke to 33 shutouts over four seasons with the Blue Devils.
For the first time in her collegiate career, Vapensky received ACC honors as she was named the ACC Co-Goalkeeper of the Week. She collected her first collegiate shutout in impressive fashion as the Evanston, Illinois, native logged a career-high five saves over 90 minutes to defeat No. 1 Stanford. She notched two saves in the first half and three in the second. Vapensky was very impressive as Duke notched its third all-time win against a No. 1 team.
Stanford entered Sunday's match allowing only two goals over the first seven contests. The Blue Devils notched their third all-time win against a top-ranked opponent and collected four or more goals against a top-10 team for the fifth time in Duke history.
Duke will next compete Thursday, Sept. 17, as the Blue Devils travel down Tobacco Road to face seventh-ranked North Carolina. The match will kick at 8 p.m., live on ACC Network.
