Jarett Gerald joined Duke Athletics as Associate Director of Administrative Operations in September 2021 and advanced to the position of Director of Revenue Strategy in 2023.
As Associate Director of Administrative Operations, Gerald oversaw the day-to-day responsibilities for the Director of Athletics’ travel, electronic communication, and traditional correspondence. He also supports the Vice president and Director of Athletics in external and internal committees’ preparation, projects and speaking engagements and assists the Director of Athletics by providing research and reports on athletics department strategic initiatives. He also served as a liaison to the ACC, NCAA and other external and internal committees on which the Director of Athletics serves.
Gerald came to Duke from the NCAA, where he served as a member of the NCAA Postgraduate Internship Program (PGIP) in Division III Governance and Enforcement. At the NCAA he supported and administered the various councils and committees that direct the affairs of Division III. He also reviewed and processed self-reported Level III violations, served as the primary contact for member institutions on Level III cases and identified and investigated potential violations with the enforcement development staff.

Prior to the NCAA, Gerald spent five seasons serving as the special assistant to the University of South Carolina’s head men’s basketball coach, Frank Martin. During his tenure as special assistant, Gerald assisted with many facets of the program, including directing on-campus recruiting efforts, assisting with video breakdown and film exchange, serving as the housing and community service liaison for the staff and managing Coach Martin’s day-to-day schedule. Gerald also served on the athletics department’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
A native of Columbia, S.C., Gerald graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor's degree in Sports and Entertainment Management in 2011 before completing his Masters in Sport and Entertainment Management in 2015. He was a four-year letter winner for the South Carolina track & field team, competing in the long jump and triple jump. Gerald was a member of the 2017 South Carolina basketball staff that went to the Final Four, a four-time SEC Honor Roll member and a two-time Iron Gamecock Award winner for the track & field team.
