Blue Devil freshman forward Casey McCluskey continued her strong play despite the loss, tying the game at 1-1 in the 43rd minute after battling through three Bulldog defenders and firing a shot past Georgia freshman goalkeeper Ashley Lindley. It was McCluskey's fourth goal in her last three games and third of the tournament.
Duke senior forward Sarah Pickens put the Blue Devils ahead after beating Lindley to a loose ball in front of the Georgia goal and finding the back of the net. The Bulldogs responded minutes later, getting the game-tying and game-winning goals from senior forward Amy Berbary.
