DURHAM, N.C. - Andrew Clark of the Duke swimming team has been named the Ronald McDonald House Charities Student-Athlete of the Week by the Duke Radio Network.
Clark, a freshman from Owings Mills, Md., won two events last week to help the Blue Devils defeat UNC Wilmington in their season opener.
Clark took first place in the 500 and 1,000 freestyle events to contribute 22 points to the Duke score in his first college meet. The Devils defeated the Seahawks by seven points.
Clark was named the ACC swimming and diving performer of the week, the first Duke men's swimmer to be so honored since 2000.
The Duke swimming team returns to action next Saturday, Nov. 4, to host Maryland and N.C. State.
