Opening statement:
"I thought that we tried to do what we do - do our stuff - together, and that was good for two halves. It was a good start, but there's a lot to learn from on the film."
On being a bigger team...
"Obviously we had great size over them and great athleticism, but the key is that we did a lot of the right things. Any team that gets 31 assists under any conditions is looking for the right things."
On what Shay Selby has done best to improve:
"Just being ready to go in all facets; the conditioning piece and coming back from a surgery, that's an enormous undertaking. You can't forget that. That was a major, major surgery. I think the conditioning and the commitment to coming back is very inspiring for the team. I think it's phenomenal where Shay is at, and I'm excited for her because she's worked hard."
On having three guards on the floor at one time:|
"I like it because there's a lot of confidence in seeing the floor. There's a lot of eyes looking up. The more you look up, the more you can see the floor and see great players like Elizabeth [Williams], Amber [Henson] and Haley [Peters] running down the floor. There's a lot of upside to it on both sides of the ball."
Duke Freshman Center Elizabeth Williams
On her first game in a Duke uniform:
"I had a good time and I had fun. I just tried to be aggressive. Coach [McCallie] told me that was important."
On what she needs to work on most:
"Probably finishing - I missed a lot of easy shots. I was rushing a little bit on some shots. I could've been a little bit more patient."
Duke Senior Guard Shay Selby
On the performance of freshman Elizabeth Williams:
"She's phenomenal. Her ability to come in and play at this level from the start is amazing. As a guard, I love having a post that can catch the ball and finish."
On the starting lineup and team chemistry:
"I think when everyone comes in aggressive on defense it gets our offense going. It gets us excited when we get steals."
On the guards finishing stronger than last year:
"I don't think we set out and say 'Guards - finish,'' but it's always in the back of our mind that we want to go hard."
