DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke men's and women's swimming and diving teams continue their fall ACC slate on Saturday, Nov. 5 as they travel to nearby Raleigh, N.C. for a meet against NC State and the Savannah College of Art and Design.
NC State enters the weekend with a ledger of 2-1 (1-1 ACC) on the men's side while the women own a record of 2-2 (0-2 ACC). In its last outing, the Wolfpack completed a mid-week sweep of East Carolina in Greenville, N.C. Both the men's and women's squads claimed victories over the Blue Devils in last year's meeting, and took eighth at the 2011 ACC Championships.
Saturday's competition marks the first meeting between Duke and the Savannah College of Art and Design of the NAIA. The SCAD men and women both opened the season 0-2 in dual meet action and took third against Clemson and Georgia Southern on Oct. 25.
The Blue Devil men own a record of 2-2 overall and 1-2 in ACC action, while the women are 1-3 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
Duke, NC State and SCAD will kick off Saturday's action at 11 a.m. at the Wolfpack's Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center. The diving events will take place at Duke's Taishoff Aquatic Pavillion beginning at 10:30 a.m.
"We are heading into our third weekend of competition and it is going to be a great competition," said head coach Dan Colella. "We match up very well against NCSU and it should be a meet that goes down to the wire. As always, we have focused on those things we can work on every day to make ourselves better and we hope to have our best meet thus far."
