KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Duke swimming and diving posted seven event wins Friday afternoon inside the Allan Jones Aquatic Center, but ultimately fell in its dual meet at Tennessee.
The 20th-ranked Blue Devil women dropped a 184-110 decision to the No. 8 Volunteers, while the No. 11 Tennessee men posted a 198-88 win over Duke.

TOP PERFORMANCES
- Junior Ali Pfaff competed in the 100 backstroke and earned the first victory of the day for the Blue Devils, hitting the wall in 51.74 seconds.
- Duke posted a sweep in the 100 breaststroke with senior Kaelyn Gridley and junior Kalen Anbar collecting the first-place finishes. Gridley pulled away late and finished in 58.53 seconds, while Anbar turned in a time of 54 flat in the tightly contested men's race, out-touching his opponent by .03 seconds to get the win.
- Senior Justin Wong pushed Duke's win total to four on the afternoon, as he swam 1:47.26 to claim the top spot on the podium in the men's 200 butterfly and move into No. 10 all-time on the Duke top-10 performers list.
- Pfaff and Gridley secured individual sweeps with wins in the 200 back and 200 breast, respectively. Pfaff touched in 1:52.94, while Gridley finished in 2:09.12.
- The women's 3-meter dive saw Duke sophomore Keira Lu total a score of 314.55 and pick up her seventh event win of the season. Lu added a runner-up finish in the 1-meter dive (293.25).
- Senior Tatum Wall earned a pair of second place finishes in the 50 and 100 freestyle. Wall turned in a time of 21.81 in the 50 free before clocking 48.32 in the 100 free.
- Junior Jack Smith clocked 54.03 seconds en route to earning second place in the 100 breast.
- In the women's 200 fly, senior Martina Peroni (second) and freshman Neala Klein (third) earned top-three finishes via times of 1:59.14 and 2:00.85, respectively. On the men's side, sophomore Samir Elkassem hit the wall in 1:50.31 to take third.
- Anbar (2nd; 1:58.70) and rookie Raphael Wang (3rd; 1:59.59) took part in the 200 breast, while freshman Anderson Kopp (2nd; 4:32.52) and senior Austin Simpson (3rd; 4:36.49) represented Duke in the 500 free.
- In the 100 fly, freshman Heather White (54.42) and graduate student Justin Wong (47.48) each placed third in their respective races.
- Freshmen Ryan Griffith (200 back; 1:47.69) and Gustav Koh (100 back; 49.11), junior Molly Donlan (200 back; 1:55.77) and senior Audrey Portello (400 IM; 4:14.42) capped the individual podium finishers for Duke.
- The Blue Devils closed the afternoon with a second and third-place showing in the 200 free relays. The Duke women's quartet of Wall, Pfaff, sophomore Clare Logan and White clocked 1:29.16 to earn the runner-up finish.
- On the men's side, the unit of Wong, Griffith, junior Milo Shue and freshman Owen Waibel took third with a time of 1:20.69.
