DURHAM, N.C. - The Blue Devils closed College Cup competition Sunday evening at Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion, grabbing several top finishes on the day.
Keeping to her fast-pace of Saturday, senior Kirstie Jeffrey grabbed second on Sunday in the 100 free with a time of 51.89.Jeffrey posted her best season times in both the 100 and 50 free over the weekend.
The Blue Devils dominated the backstroke, with senior Allie Speidel grabbing second in the 200 back, and freshman Eneka Lamb claiming third.
But it was again a senior that grabbed the top spot for Duke. Melissa Reynolds posted her best finish (2:08.74) in the 200 IM, securing a first place finish for the senior.
For the men, it was a sophomore effort that claimed the butterfly. Chris Cirillo took second with a time of 1:52.45, while Jacob Bieze notched third with 1:53.87. Keeping to the sophomore theme, it was Adam Flur who grabbed second in the 100 free, posting his best time of 46.10.
With this weekends events, the Duke swimmers and divers close season competition. Up next, the women will head to Atlanta, Ga., to compete in the ACC Championships Wednesday, Feb. 16-Saturday, Feb. 19. The men will then travel to Atlanta as well to compete in the ACCs, Wednesday, Feb. 23-Saturday, Feb. 26.
