DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University junior Peter Kropp claimed ACC Male Swimmer of the Week accolades for the second time this season, garnering the honor Tuesday after leading the Blue Devils to dual meet victories over Florida State and Queens University of Charlotte.
The Los Angeles, Calif., native and 2015 NCAA qualifier swept the men's breaststroke races for the second time in as many meets last Friday evening in Taishoff Aquatics Paviion. He earned a second NCAA provisional time standard in the 100-yard breaststroke (53.64) and bested the field in the 200-yard event by over three seconds (1:59.85). In addition, he joined teammates Kaz Takabayashi, David Armstrong and James Peek on the winning 200 medley relay, which clocked the nation's second-fastest time to date at 1:27.47.
Kropp's performances helped Duke defeat Florida State in a dual meet format for the first time in program history.
