IOWA CITY, Iowa – Sophomore Peter Kropp represented Duke in the 200-yard breaststroke trials to round out the action at the 2015 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championship Saturday at the University of Iowa's Campus Recreation and Wellness Center.
Kropp set the program record in the event at last month's ACC Championships with a 1:55.05 clocking. He touched at 1:57.60 Saturday morning to place 40th in the NCAA field.
On Friday, Kropp competed in the 100 breaststroke trials, taking 19th overall at 52.76. He also joined Kaz Takabayashi, David Armstrong and James Peek on the Blue Devils' 200 medley relay, the first in program history to qualify for NCAAs since the current A/B time standards were implemented. The relay earned a spot in the consolation final with a preliminaries time of 1:25.35 mark, but was disqualified in the evening race.
The Duke men sent representatives to the NCAA Championship for the sixth consecutive season and the 14th time overall.
