Three Keys...
• The Blue Devils will play for only the third time over the last 23 days when Duke hosts East Carolina Dec. 28.
• Leaonna Odom has scored 102 of her 160 points in the second half this season. She has averaged 10.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and hit 62.0 percent of her field goals in the second half.
• Duke has held three out of its last four opponents (Wisconsin - 53; Marist - 56; UNLV - 38) to season low points. The Blue Devil defense held those opponents to only 49.0 points, 33.5 percent shooting, 25.0 percent from downtown and only 29.0 rebounds a game.
Storylines/Other Blue Devil Notes...
• East Carolina will bring Salita Greene back to her hometown of Durham, N.C., as Greene attended Jordan High School. She has appeared in 11 games, while starting five this season.
• Redshirt junior Haley Gorecki collected her second double-double of the season in the last outing at Oregon State as she registered 18 points and a career-high 11 rebounds. She added three assists and three steals in the contest.
• Leaonna Odom has posted four double-doubles in 10 games to open the season.
• Duke has won 18 straight contests in the month of December in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
• The Blue Devils have won 34 out of its last 36 home contests in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
• Haley Gorecki has drained a three-pointer in seven straight games.
• Duke is one of only two ACC teams to feature at least two players averaging 15.0+ points and 5.5+ rebounds (Notre Dame). The Blue Devils have not had two or more players end the season with these numbers since 1996-97 season (Kira Orr/Tyish Hall). This is the only time two Duke players ended the season with these numbers.
• Duke and Georgia Tech are the only two teams in the league to have four different freshmen who have scored 11 or more points in a game this season.
• Leaonna Odom ranks 11th in the ACC in field goal percentage with a 55.9 percentage, while her 7.8 rebounds ranks tied 12th.
• Redshirt junior Haley Gorecki and freshman Miela Goodchild have combined to drain 39 three-pointers on the season.
• The Blue Devils had a season-high 13 steals against Marist and have notched 10 or more steals in six of 10 games. Duke ranks fifth in the ACC with a 9.7 steals per game average.
• Leaonna Odom is one of five players in the ACC averaging at least 15.5 points and 8.0 rebounds.
• The 2018-19 Duke team is tied for the second youngest Duke team based on percentage of freshman and sophomores (69.23%). The 2011-12 was 75.0 percent freshmen and sophomores to lead the way. The nine freshmen and sophomores are tied for the most under Coach P at Duke (2015-16 and 2011-12).
• Duke was one of the best teams in the nation a year ago in opponent paint scoring holding teams to only 19.97 points a game. This ranked as the second-lowest for the Blue Devils over the last seven years (19.06 in 2014-15).
• In terms of the youth of the ACC, Duke's 69.23 percent of freshmen and sophomores is the fourth-highest -- Georgia Tech (76.92), Boston College (75.0) and Florida State (72.73).
• Duke returns just 39.7 percent of its scoring from the 2017-18 season. It is the lowest returning scoring percentage since the conclusion of the 2013-14 season. • Duke graduated two of the best scorer's in Blue Devil history – Rebecca Greenwell (1,874 points) and Lexie Brown (1,263 points in two years). They were one of the most dynamic scoring duos in the nation the last two years and Duke will have a much different look in 2018-19 without those guards.
• All 29 of Duke's 2018-19 contests will be aired on some type of television between ESPN+, ACC Network Extra, ESPN2, RSN-TV, PAC 12 Network and Big Ten Network.

A Look at East Carolina...
ECU enters the game Friday with a 9-2 mark and winners of four straight contests.
The Pirates have been led by Raven Johnson (13.6 points, 6.8 rebounds) and Lashonda Monk (12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds) on the season.
Nicole Mealing will be acting interim head coach for the first time this season when ECU visits Durham on Friday.
The Series with East Carolina...
East Carolina arrives in Durham as Duke takes on the Pirates for the first time since 2002. Overall, this will be East Carolina's eighth visit to Cameron Indoor Stadium and the 16th meeting between the Pirates and Blue Devils.
In 15 previous encounters, Duke owns a 6-9 record against ECU. However, the Blue Devils are riding a five-game winning streak in the series and a 4-3 record in home match-ups.
This will be the second time that Coach P will face East Carolina, with the last meeting coming during her tenure at Maine with a 92-70 win in 1997.
Duke Versus the American Athletic Conference...
Results against the American Athletic Conference have been fairly even to date, with Duke compiling a 25-22 record against its members – Connecticut (3-12), Cincinnati (0-1), East Carolina (6-9), Houston (2-0), SMU (1-0), South Florida (3-0), Temple (7-0), Tulane (1-0), and Tulsa (2-0).
Coach P holds a 16-13 record against American Athletic teams, most recently facing Connecticut in a 59-72 loss in the 2018 Sweet 16.
At Home in Cameron...
Duke owns a 3-0 record at home this season and the Blue Devils have won those three contests by an average of 17.7 points.
The Blue Devils have hit 47.3 percent of their field goals and 41.0 percent from downtown in those games.
At home, Leaonna Odom has averaged 18.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals at home this season. She has notched double-doubles in two of the three games.
Haley Gorecki has averaged 13.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.7 assists. Miela Goodchild has averaged 11.0 points, 2.3 assists and 1.7 rebounds. She has hit 7-of-11 three-point attempts.
Boykin Impressive in Return...
Duke redshirt freshman Mikayla Boykin made her 2018-19 debut UNLV and was very impressive with 11 points, six assists, a career-high five steals and four rebounds in 20 minutes.
Boykin started the third quarter and sparked the Blue Devils to an impressive second half outscoring the Lady Rebels, 41-21.
She backed that up with 10 points and six rebounds in a career-high 37 minutes at Oregon State.
Boykin has averaged 10.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals in two games on the season. She has hit 50.0 percent of her field goals.
Her debut came 361 days since she tore her ACL Dec. 10, 2017 against Winthrop. Boykin received a medical redshirt for this past season and will have four years of eligibility remaining.
Gorecki Approaching Marks...
As redshirt junior Haley Gorecki steps on the court Friday, she is approaching 500 points and 200 rebounds. She owns 482 points and 187 rebounds in only 47 games.
If she reaches the 500 points and 200 rebound mark within the next three games, Gorecki would become just the seventh Blue Devil in school history to post over 500 points, 200 rebounds and 100 steals in their first 50 games of their collegiate career.
She would join only Alana Beard, Lexie Brown, Monique Currie, Rebecca Greenwell, Alexis Jones and Katie Meier.
